| Moose Battle Penguins and Foxes The Metro Moose traveled to Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins in a battle of the top two teams in the Western Conference. The match up was pivotal for both teams as they battle for playoff positioning. After a long bus ride, the Moose arrived at the rink to take on the Penguins. The Penguins immediately took it to the Moose from the drop of the puck and jumped out to a three goal lead before the Moose got their legs under them and got going. The Moose regained their focus and began to take control of the game after the first period. The team would respond and walk away with a hard fought 7-4 victory. On Sunday morning the Moose arrived at the rink knowing that if they defeated the Penguins they would clinch the Western Conference title and with that the automatic bid to USA Hockey Junior B Nationals. The Moose were much more ready to play on Sunday and took it to the Penguins from the drop of the puck. The Moose would clinch their third consecutive trip to Nationals with a 7-4 victory. Next up for the Moose was a trip to Poughkeepsie, New York to take on Marist Foxes. The Moose came into the game nursing a few injuries and would play with a shortened bench. Marist came into the game riding a hot streak and they were looking for redemption from an early season loss to the Moose. The Moose went to work right away and never looked back on their way to an 11-6 victory. The coaching staff was extremely pleased with the effort considering the short bench and the fact that the boys played well against much older and stronger team. Next up for the Moose is a weekend battle with
New York Apple Core. Apple Core comes into the game playing good hockey
and currently sits in third place in the Western Conference.
