The Metro Moose have continued their strong start to the season with
three victories at the Northern Mass Cyclones showcase over the Portland
Pirates, Philadelphia Little Flyers and New Jersey Renegades. After
the long weekend in New Hampshire, the Moose prepared to take on the
New Jersey Rockets on Thursday night at the Prudential Center.
The game featured two of the top teams in the MET league. Both teams
were looking forward to the matchup and were prepared for a battle.
The Moose came out of the gates hard and fast and took a commanding
5-0 lead into the first intermission. The Rockets responded in the second
period and scored three straight goals to cut the lead to 5-3. John
Schiavo scored late in the second to re-establish a three goal lead
heading into the third. After regrouping during the break, the Moose
scored three more times in the third. The final buzzer sounded and the
Moose skated off with a 8-3 victory.
On Saturday the Moose continued their recent strong play and picked
up a 6-0 win over the NY Saints. Robert Palumbo was in net and earned
a shutout.
