Moose Continue Early Season Success

The Metro Moose have continued their strong start to the season with three victories at the Northern Mass Cyclones showcase over the Portland Pirates, Philadelphia Little Flyers and New Jersey Renegades. After the long weekend in New Hampshire, the Moose prepared to take on the New Jersey Rockets on Thursday night at the Prudential Center.

The game featured two of the top teams in the MET league. Both teams were looking forward to the matchup and were prepared for a battle. The Moose came out of the gates hard and fast and took a commanding 5-0 lead into the first intermission. The Rockets responded in the second period and scored three straight goals to cut the lead to 5-3. John Schiavo scored late in the second to re-establish a three goal lead heading into the third. After regrouping during the break, the Moose scored three more times in the third. The final buzzer sounded and the Moose skated off with a 8-3 victory.

On Saturday the Moose continued their recent strong play and picked up a 6-0 win over the NY Saints. Robert Palumbo was in net and earned a shutout.

Dominick Sacco and Sam Mignoli recently were named MET player and goalie of the week respectively. Sacco currently leads the MET league in scoring with 29 points in 10 games. John Schiavo and Kaelin Groon are also near the top of the leader board with 19 points each.
