Moose D-Man to Philadelphia Jr. A

The Metro Moose are proud to announce that defenseman Patrick Mead has committed to play for Coach Jerry Domish and his Philadelphia Junior Flyers Junior “A” team. The Flyers compete in the very competitive Atlantic Junior Hockey League.

Patrick spent the past three seasons with the Moose organization after playing his youth hockey for the Greater New York Stars. Patrick began with the Moose in the 2007-2008 season playing for the MAD league team before playing the past two seasons with the Junior B team. Patrick made the CHA All-Star team during the 2008-2009 season. He was part of two regular season championship teams and was a huge part of the Moose capturing the CHA title this past season. Patrick made two consecutive trips with the Moose to USA Hockey Junior B Nationals. Patrick played in 98 games scoring 25 goals and adding 29 assists with a very impressive +59 rating during his two seasons on the Junior B team. Last season Patrick was voted assistant captain by his team mates. In addition to his defensive play Pat played a huge role on the Moose power play the past two seasons. Moose Head Coach Craig Doremus said “Patty has worked hard these past two years. He has improved so much since his first training camp with us. It is our goal to help move our players to either the Junior A or college level. Pat was such a huge part of our success the past two years and we are happy he was rewarded for his efforts.”

Pat hopes the opportunity to play Junior A hockey on the northeast will gain him some valuable exposure to college scouts. Hopefully if he continues to work hard and develop he can earn the attention of some Division 3 schools.

The entire Metro Moose organization congratulates Patrick and his family on his accomplishments and thanks them for all their contributions these past three seasons.
