The Continental Hockey Association is pleased to announce our Player of the Month for the Month of October 2010.

Gavin Grogan a 91 forward from Lynbrook, NY is a two year veteran of the Metro Moose Junior B team. After a breakout season last year with the Moose, Gavin has continued his strong play early this year helping the Moose start off with an 11-1 record through the middle of October. As of October 21, he tied for the league lead in scoring with teammates Matt Galeano and Ryan Cheng.

Gavin has scored 12 goals and dished out 12 assists in playing a major role for the Moose on both special teams units. In addition to his on ice ability, Gavin has stepped up off the ice as well by establishing himself as a leader amongst his peers.

Assistant Coach Vinny Smith said ”Gavin has established himself as one of the top forwards in Junior B hockey. His ability to create offense and finish around the net while maintaining a power forward prowess has been huge in our success early on. Gavin is the type of player who our guys can look up to and learn from everyday.”

Gavin is in his second year at Nassau Community College and is studying liberal arts. He is currently in the process of selecting a school at which he can pursue hockey and academics.
